The fixed function devices provide the easiest method to add USB without the need for any firmware or driver development. The USBXpress portfolio supports several USB to serial bridge devices, including human interface (HID) devices and USB Audio devices. The CP210x is a single-chip USB to UART bridge that converts data traffic between USB and UART formats. The chip includes a complete USB 2.0 full-speed function controller, bridge control logic and a UART interface with transmit/receive. When l click on device manager the com virtual port allocated for the USB to UART bridge has a yellow exclamation mark. I have also reset the VID and PID as recommended in some forums. What is interesting is that the installation has created two OEM.inf files (OEM28.inf and OEM40.inf) and both seem to be in use.
